Scale-up of Electrospinning: Market Overview of Products and Devices

Summary

Laboratory electrospinning typically produces between 0.01 and 1 gram per hour - orders of magnitude below what pharmaceutical manufacturing requires, and the reason the technique has struggled to leave the bench. This review surveys the equipment manufacturers and products that have addressed the problem, examining the scale-up strategies each has adopted and what they mean for pharmaceutical and biomedical production. Linari Nanotech is among the manufacturers surveyed.
