Summary
The enthesis - where tendon meets bone - is a graded tissue in which fibrocartilage blends into mineral, and that gradient is precisely why it tears: the stiffness mismatch between soft tissue and hard bone concentrates stress, and surgical reconstructions frequently fail in the same place. This study develops a tubular scaffold based on pullulan and chitosan with a deliberate topographical and compositional gradient, so that the implant reproduces the transition instead of forcing an abrupt junction between materials of very different stiffness.

The tubular scaffolds were produced on an STKIT-40 system (Linari Engineering) with a 40 kV high voltage power supply, a 10 cc syringe and a 21 G stainless steel needle - see our Electrospinning Starter Kit, control unit HVG-CONT-LCD.
