Aluminum Disk Collector – for Aligned Nanofiber Bundles
Aluminum Disk Collector – for Aligned Nanofiber Bundles
Aluminum disk collector to deposit orderly, aligned nanofiber structures on both the lateral and the circular surface of the disk.
MINIMIZES ANY POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE
Made of high-resistance aluminum with a cylindrical connection (3 mm diameter) to reach high rotation speeds. Every disk collector comes with bare, non-anodized and untreated aluminum outer surfaces to minimize electrical resistance and keep the electric field stable at the deposition point.
Upon request and at no extra charge, disks are available with "V"-shaped side edges in addition to the standard flat (cylindrical) profile — useful for collecting narrow, highly aligned fiber bundles on the edge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When should I choose a disk instead of a drum collector?
A rotating disk concentrates the electric field on a narrow edge, producing highly aligned fiber bundles — ideal for yarn-like deposits, single-fiber studies and mechanical characterization. A drum collector is better for larger-area aligned mats.
Which diameter should I choose?
Larger diameters increase the linear speed at the edge for the same rpm, improving fiber alignment; smaller disks reduce inertia for quick speed changes. The 60–80 mm range covers most research applications.
