Forget compromises: the ideal solution for core-shell electrospinning with any type of polymer, even in the most corrosive solvents.
Suitable for all electrospinning systems.

A NEEDLE FOR SPINNING TWO OR MORE SOLUTIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY

The sealed coaxial needles are manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel and are assembled entirely by a laser welding process to guarantee maximum geometric precision and high levels of cleanliness, eliminating any risk of contaminating the solutions.

Two standard versions are available, with two or three concentric layers, which can be customized upon request.

Standard dimensions (2 layers):

  • Inner needle: G21
  • Outer needle: G15

Standard dimensions (3 layers):

  • Inner needle: G21
  • Middle needle: G15
  • Outer needle: G11

BUYING MORE THAN ONE? SAVE WITH THE 3-PACK

For parallel multi-needle arrays or to keep spares at hand, the Sealed Coaxial Needles 3-Pack offers the same needles at a lower unit price — you save up to 9% compared to three single needles.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DO YOU GET FROM USING SEALED COAXIAL NEEDLES?

With coaxial needles you gain the ability to spin two or more polymers simultaneously within the same fiber, producing fibers with an inner core and outer shell.

This is useful when a single material would force a compromise between two properties — for example, one material offers the desired mechanical strength, while a different material shows a better degradation rate.

Core-shell fiber with inner core produced by coaxial electrospinning
Thanks to the manufacturing material, it is possible to spin any type of polymer, even with the most corrosive solvents, at temperatures up to 120 °C in the standard configuration.

These needles are very compact and make it possible to create high-productivity configurations: they can be assembled in parallel up to tens of units thanks to a simple, solid mechanical structure and the distribution of solutions through standard Luer-UNF connections.

The rear threaded hole permits both fastening to the support structure and a stable connection of the high voltage.

LOOKING FOR A MORE VERSATILE SOLUTION?

In our Modular Coaxial Needle Kit, every concentric needle is independent, so it can be equipped with a different diameter and supplied with solutions of different materials through standard Luer Lock connections.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between sealed and modular coaxial needles?

Sealed needles are laser-welded single pieces: compact, lower cost (from €151.80) and ideal for parallel arrays, but with fixed geometry. The modular kit offers interchangeable tips and full disassembly for cleaning.

Do sealed coaxial needles work with non-Linari electrospinning systems?

Yes. Solutions are fed through standard Luer-UNF connections and the rear threaded hole fits standard supports, so they can be used with any electrospinning setup with at least two syringe pumps.

Which gauge configuration should I choose?

The 2-layer version (G21 inner / G15 outer) covers most core-shell applications. Choose the 3-layer version (G21/G15/G11) for triaxial fibers or when an additional protective or functional layer is required. Custom geometries are available on request.

Is there a discount for buying multiple needles?

Yes — the 3-pack saves you up to 9% compared to buying three single needles: ideal for parallel configurations and spares.
