Random nanofibersAligned nanofibers

Easy Drum - Entry Level is equipped with a Rotary System to obtain aligned or random fibers.

Compared to the other systems,it is not possible to change the collector size.

AFFORDABLE ROTARY SYSTEM FOR BEGINNERS

Rotary collector with unchangeable collectors, able to reach a speed of +75...3000rpm.

WHAT ADVANTAGES DO YOU GET BY USING THIS MACHINE?

Easy Drum provides a digitally controlled rotation system for drum collector.

WHAT MATERIALS CAN YOU ELECTROSPIN?

It is possible to electrospin any type of synthetic, organic polymer or ceramic material, starting from solutions at room temperature.

Why rotation speed changes your fibers

The collector speed is what decides the architecture of your deposit. At low speed the fibers land randomly and you obtain a non-woven mat; as speed rises they are progressively drawn and aligned along the rotation direction. Alignment matters in tissue engineering, where fiber direction guides cell growth, and in sensors and composites, where properties depend on orientation.

This entry level unit reaches 3000 rpm with a fixed Ø100×200 mm aluminium collector - enough to explore aligned fibers, but with two limits worth knowing before you buy: the collector cannot be changed, so you cannot vary diameter or produce tubular structures of different sizes, and the collector is grounded, so it cannot be raised to a second high voltage potential.

Note: this is a rotary unit, not a complete machine.

Easy Drum - Entry Level adds rotation to an electrospinning setup you already own. It does not include a chamber, a high voltage generator, a syringe pump or needles. If you are starting from scratch, the Electrospinning Starter Kit for aligned nanofibers delivers everything you need in one package - station hood, 40-60 kV generator, syringe pump, rotary collector, needles, syringes and supports.

UPGRADE VERSION

Are you looking for higher specifications or do you want to be free to change collectors?

With our Easy Drum you can achieve a rotation speed of up to 5000rpm, moreover this solution allows you to detach the collector, with the advantage of simply replacing it and allowing the creation of tubular structures.

TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE DEVICE

  • Rotary system with sealed brushless motor without forced ventilation to avoid the contamination of the nano-fibers and their dispersion.
  • Speed of rotation up to 3000 rpm in both directions.
  • Electric control panel with digital indication of speed.
  • Built-in collector grounding connections for minimum electric resistance.
  • High voltage insulation capability up to 40 kV.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a complete electrospinning machine?

No. It is a rotary collection unit that upgrades an existing setup from static to dynamic collection. It does not include a chamber, high voltage generator, syringe pump or needles. For a complete system, see the Electrospinning Starter Kit for aligned nanofibers.

What is the difference from the standard Easy Drum?

This entry level version reaches 3000 rpm and its collector cannot be changed. The standard Easy Drum reaches 5000 rpm, allows detaching and replacing collectors of different sizes, and in the HSI version the collector can be insulated up to 40 kV instead of grounded.

Which collector is included?

An aluminium cylindrical collector, 100 mm in diameter and 200 mm long, fixed to the unit.

Can I produce tubular structures?

Not with this version, because the collector cannot be detached. The standard Easy Drum allows removing the collector to peel off tubular structures without cutting the fiber substrate.

Does it produce aligned or random fibers?

Both. At low rotation speed you obtain a randomly oriented mat, and as speed increases the fibers are drawn and aligned along the rotation direction, up to 3000 rpm in both directions.

Which materials can I use?

Any synthetic, organic polymer or ceramic material, starting from solutions at room temperature.
